Words & Phrases - Spice Em Up!

As the saying goes, variety is the spice of life! As I have grown older I find this to be very true. This includes everything from food and drinks to stupid things like body wash (I have 7 different “fragrances”, one for each day!). I love variety and try to experience and use different “things” on a daily basis. One of my favorite things to do is use new, unique and unusual words and phrases. These are usually good for a few laughs and if used enough, people start to catch on and use the words too! Below I have listed all of the fun words / phrases I could think of at the moment. Some are words I have made up, some are borrowed from friends, while others have been made popular by songs or comedians or, well, who knows! I have added a short description beside each one, so feel free to embrace these as you wish and enjoy :)

Scarrified - A personal creation, scared + terrified = Scarrified!

Fantacular - Fantastic + spectacular = Fantacular!

Greataful - Not sure how this one came about, I think my friend Sarah created it… a mixture of Great and Grateful.

Prime Minister of Humor - I heard this phrase on TV a while back but I don’t remember what program, describes someone who is funny.

Handicapable - Comedian Dane Cook used this phrase in a prank call where he posed as a guy in a wheelchair asking about library books.

Foggalation - Sarah is credited with this one, meaning it’s foggy outside.

Tender - Another word for “cool” or “tight”… thats tender!

Hiccaburp - A friend of mine had this weird thing where she would burp and hiccup simultaneously - hiccaburp!

Cash & Prizes - Dane Cook phrase again, I love this one. Cash & Prizes refers to your “privates” heh.

The Business - A new phrase meaning “that’s cool” or “that’s awesome”, can also be shortened to The Biz.

Hot Second - Adam came up with this one, meaning a very short period of time.

Quick Minute - Similar to Hot Second, but a little longer… like a minute or two.

Vehicular Objectile - Personal creation, another word for a car.

Slow Motion - If someone asks you how you are doing, you can reply with “Slow Motion” meaning you are doing just fine… and you have to say it in slow motion to get the full effect!

Commode - A common term for toilet, but yet nobody around here uses it. Let’s bring this one back!

Outstanding - Again, nothing new, but Adam used this one a lot and it caught on with everyone else!

Fellas - Adam has a lot of phrases on this list, this one meaning a group of guys. Not new but people never use it!

Good Job, Governor - I tried to get my friends to use this one, but so far it hasn’t taken off. When you do something stupid, people will sometimes say “good job!” or “good job chief!”… well, now you have Good Job, Governor!

Phenomenal - Can be swapped out with Outstanding for the same effect.

Carpenter Bird - This one is great; that bird is no longer called a Woodpecker.. its a Carpenter Bird!

OV - Exported from a rap song, meaning “It’s Over”. Example usage: someone drank too much, It’s O.V… or someone is about to get beat up, It’s O.V.!

Clutch - Can be substituted for Outstanding or Phenomenal and has the same general meaning.

The Fire - Substitution for The Business, same meaning.
